jeetwin Cricket Betting Markets Overview

Cricket Formats and Competitions

Cricket has three main formats — T20, ODI and Test. Betting works differently in each format, so having a clear understanding of the formats will help you decide which market to bet on in a given match.

T20 Cricket

This 20-over-per-side format is the fastest and most active for betting. BPL (Bangladesh Premier League), IPL and the ICC T20 World Cup are all played in this format. The situation can change rapidly over each over during a match, so live markets see high demand.

ODI Cricket

In One Day Internationals, each side plays 50 overs. Bangladesh Tigers regularly compete in international ODI tournaments. The match winner, top batsman and highest runs markets are especially popular in ODI betting.

Test Cricket

This five-day format is the highest standard of cricket. A Test match can end in a draw, so the market is split into three outcomes — win for the first team, win for the second team, or draw. Innings performance markets are attractive to bettors in these longer matches.

Which competitions are available for betting?

BPL is the tournament closest to Bangladeshi cricket fans — being a domestic franchise league, interest in every match is at a different level. In the IPL, you can watch the world's best players perform while betting across various markets. Since Bangladesh participates directly in the ICC T20 World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy, interest in these tournaments is naturally high.

Markets for international series are also available at jeetwin — from bilateral T20 series to Test series. Alongside cricket, the jeetwin Bet platform also has markets for football, badminton and other sports.

Popular Betting Markets

Cricket betting offers many different types of markets. Below are the seven most commonly used markets and a plain explanation of how each one works.

Most Popular

Match Winner

Picking which team will win the match is the most straightforward market. For example, if you think Team A will beat Team B in a T20 match, bet on that option. There is no draw in T20 or ODI; a draw is possible in Test.

In T20 and ODI

Toss Winner

You can bet on which team will win the toss before the match starts. This is a completely separate bet — it has no connection to the match result. Odds for both sides are usually close to even.

Performance Market

Top Batsman

You predict who will score the most runs for a specific team in the match. Example: which batter will score the highest for Team A? A player with higher odds is considered less likely by the bookmaker.

Over/Under

Total Runs

In this market you choose one of two options — whether the total runs in an innings or the entire match will be more (over) or fewer (under) than a set number. The rate of wickets falling and pitch conditions influence this bet.

Bowling Market

Top Bowler

A market where you pick which bowler will take the most wickets. You need to judge whether the match pitch favours pace bowlers or spinners when making your decision here.

Multiple Matches

Multi Bet (Multiple Selections)

A multi bet combines the results of several matches or events into a single bet. Example: if you pick the winner of three matches together, the odds are multiplied — but you only win if all selections are correct. If even one is wrong, the entire bet is lost.

Live Market

Runs in a Specific Over

A market on how many runs will be scored in a particular over — such as the powerplay or the final 5 overs. These smaller markets are regularly available in live in-play betting, and odds change quickly during the match.

How to Read Odds

Betting odds are written in three main formats — Decimal, Fractional and American. All three express the same probability; only the way they are written is different.

Format How to Read Example (Team A win)
Decimal A multiplier for total return. You receive the full amount including your stake. 2.25 means a ৳500 bet returns ৳1,125 in total
Fractional Shows profit as a fraction, not including the stake. 5/4 means ৳625 profit on a ৳500 bet
American Positive (+) = profit on a ৳100 bet. Negative (−) = how much you need to bet to win ৳100. +125 means ৳625 profit on a ৳500 bet

Example 1 — Team A win (underdog)

Stake: ৳500. Odds: Decimal 2.25 = Fractional 5/4 = American +125.

If you win, total return is ৳1,125 (৳625 profit + ৳500 original stake).

If you lose, ৳500 is gone. This calculation is the same across all three formats.

Example 2 — Team B win (favourite)

Stake: ৳500. Odds: Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American −400.

If you win, total return is ৳625 (৳125 profit + ৳500 stake).

American −400 means you need to bet ৳400 to make ৳100 profit.

These numbers are for illustration only — actual odds will vary by match and market. Betting is for entertainment only.

jeetwin Live In-Play Betting Wickets and Overs

Live In-Play Betting

Real-Time

Live betting during a cricket match is a completely different experience. Odds update immediately when a wicket falls or a big over is scored. If a team's chance of winning drops after losing 5 wickets, their odds go up — meaning a higher return if they win.

The pace of a match often shifts at the end of the powerplay or during the middle overs. New bettors can start with specific over-based markets in live betting, as those are limited in time and easier to follow.

For live betting from anywhere on your phone, the jeetwin App gives you faster market updates. Both Android and iOS versions are available through official channels.

Football and Other Sports

Beyond cricket, jeetwin has betting markets for football, badminton and other sports. The market structure varies slightly for each sport.

⚽ Football Betting

In football, the match winner market has three outcomes — home win, away win or draw. There are no innings as in cricket, so you focus on the full-match score and handicap markets.

🏸 Badminton Betting

Badminton match betting includes set winner and match winner markets. Bets here are placed on individual performance, not team performance. For more details, read the Badminton Betting Guide.

🎣 Fishing Games

Outside of sports betting, jeetwin also has fishing games where you can win prizes through skill-based gameplay. Learn more about jeetwin Fishing Games.

The key difference between cricket and football betting is that a cricket match can last from a few hours to five days, with far more live markets available. In football, the result is decided within 90 minutes. In badminton, a match can turn around very quickly, leaving less time to make decisions in live betting.

A Few Things to Know Before You Start Betting

Betting is entertainment — there is no guaranteed way to make a profit. A few simple habits can keep the experience enjoyable.

1

Set a budget in advance

Decide how much you will spend per session before you start, and do not go over it. Rushing to increase bets to recover losses is the biggest mistake.

2

Start with one market

If you are new, begin by betting only on the match winner market. Once you have some experience with simpler markets, you can gradually move to top batsman or over/under markets.

3

Understand the odds before betting

Lower odds mean more of a favourite — but the return is also lower. Higher odds mean a higher return, but a lower chance of winning. No odds mean a guaranteed win.

4

Be careful with multi bets

Multi bets show a higher potential return, but if even one of three selections is wrong, the entire bet is lost. Start by trying a two-selection multi.

5

Bet responsibly

Betting should never be seen as a source of income — it is entertainment. Read the terms and conditions and the Responsible Gaming Guide once before you start.

Cricket Betting FAQ

In T20, a match ends in just 20 overs, so odds shift quickly and live markets see more activity. In ODI, with 50 overs of play, performance markets — such as top batsman or total runs — carry more weight. In Test cricket, a draw is a separate outcome, so the match winner market has three options.

In a multi bet, the odds of each selection are multiplied together. Example: if three selections have odds of 1.60, 1.80 and 1.90, the combined odds are 1.60 × 1.80 × 1.90 = 5.47 (approximately). On a ৳100 bet, a win returns ৳547 — but only if all three selections are correct. If even one is wrong, the entire bet is lost.

In live betting, every ball and every wicket changes the likely outcome of the match. The bookmaker calculates these changes in real time and updates the odds accordingly. When a big wicket falls or 20 runs come off one over, the win probability for both sides shifts immediately, and the odds reflect that.

Since BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) is played in T20 format, the markets typically available include match winner, toss winner, top batsman, total runs (over/under), and runs in a specific over. Live markets also offer many smaller over-by-over markets.

For most Bangladeshi bettors, Decimal odds are the simplest, because they show the total return directly — just multiply by the stake. American odds are a bit more complex since positive (+) and negative (−) values are read differently. All three formats express the same probability; only the way they are written differs.
